Meg and Cisco set up Misco’s Chocolate accidentally in December 2011. After struggling to make ends meet they wanted to thank their family and friends with homemade gifts for Christmas. Never having made chocolates before but with a passion for good food they set out to make their first box of chocolates.
After great feedback, and with nothing to lose, they set up Misco's and did their first market stall in 2012. At times they had to choose between buying chocolate supplies for the next stall or food for the house (they confessed to eating a lot of chocolate at that time) and at the end of 2012 Cisco’s charismatic 80-year-old mother went onto Deal or no Deal and then invested a vital £1,000 into Misco's.
After 4 ½ years of travelling around Staffordshire and Cheshire doing markets and events, the opportunity came up for them to have a little shop in their home town of Leek. After 9 months they ran out of space and expanded into larger premises.
Since then Misco's have gained national press which has enabled them to organically grow their loyal and ever expanding customer base and their online presence.
At the heart of Misco's is a family run business with ethical values and a small team passionate about bringing you little moments of magic.
