Ganaches and Truffles
Misco’s is delighted to be able to offer a hands on and creative chocolate experience run by owner and chocolatier Meg Davies, with 11 years experience in the industry and a passion for sharing knowledge (and chocolate) Meg has created a friendly and welcoming session which will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of chocolate and try your hand at chocolate work. This course is designed for beginners and home bakers, age 16 plus.
Please note that due to our workshop being accessed via a set of stairs it is not accessible for wheelchairs or mobility issues, any questions about this please get in touch.
The 3 1/2 hour session will be crammed full of chocolate knowledge, tasting, and making. You will learn about the different types of chocolate and a variety of ways that you can use it, you will learn how to combine different ingredients to make fresh cream ganaches and other methods such as truffle rolling and dipping and decorations. You will make, decorate and package up a selection of chocolatey treats to go home with.
The session will take place in Misco’s professional kitchen in Leek, Staffordshire, with a huge range of interesting ingredients to hand along with use of professional chocolatiering equipment and moulds, it’s a lovely space to get creative in. Groups will be kept to a maximum of 6, you are welcome to come with friends or family but will be made to feel very welcome if you come on your own.
An email will be sent to you about a week prior to your session containing all relevant info and directions-keep an eye in your junkmail just incase!
Please get in touch with us before booking if you have allergens that you would like to discuss. Due to the nature of the space and ingredients used this session is not suitable to those with a serious nut allergy. Also this is NOT a dairy free course (We will be running a dairy free/vegan course/s in January but at this moment its a bit too tricky to accomodate all together.)
