Chocolate experience session
Misco’s is delighted to be able to offer a hands on and creative chocolate experience run by owner and chocolatier Meg Davies, with 11 years experience in the industry and a passion for sharing knowledge (and chocolate) Meg has created a friendly and welcoming session which will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of chocolate and try your hand at chocolate work. This course is designed for beginners and home bakers, age 16 plus.
Please note that due to our workshop being accessed via a set of stairs it is not accessible for wheelchairs or mobility issues, any questions about this please get in touch.
The 2 ½ hour session will be crammed full of chocolate knowledge, tasting, and making. You will learn about the different types of chocolate and a variety of ways that you can use it, you will learn how to temper chocolate using a variety of methods, truffle rolling and dipping and making a ganache. You will make, decorate and package up a selection of chocolatey treats to go home with.
The session will take place in Misco’s professional kitchen in Leek, Staffordshire, with a huge range of interesting ingredients to hand along with use of professional chocolatiering equipment and moulds, it’s a lovely space to get creative in. Groups will be kept to a maximum of 10, you are welcome to come with friends or family but will be made to feel very welcome if you come on your own.
If you are a professional baker or chocolate maker and would like to discuss a course tailored to your professional needs, such as learning to work with coloured ocoa butters, please do get in touch.
